We are proud to share we have received honors in six product categories at the prestigious Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Performance Awards for our cutting-edge air conditioning products. This recognition marks the first time we have won awards in six product categories all at once. By offering superior systems equipped with cutting-edge technology, we are continuing to grow our reputation in the US market.
Founded in 1953, AHRI is respected internationally, with a membership of approximately 350 air conditioning manufacturers from around the globe. The organization is trusted by consumers who value the thorough product evaluation process it employs.
For the AHRI Performance Awards, experts from leading standard certification authority, Intertek, assess whether actual performance matches up with the listed specifications. AHRI randomly selects 20 percent of each manufacturer’s products (which have previously been certified by AHRI) in each product category. Only those manufacturers whose products have passed the primary performance evaluation for three consecutive years are considered for the Performance Awards.

A total of 56 of our HVAC systems across the six main product categories passed the performance evaluation conducted by the institute for a third consecutive year (from 2015 to 2017), including the Multi V, Multi F, Unitary Small Heat Pump (USHP), Unitary Small Air Conditioner (USAC), Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC), Water-Cooled Water-Chilling & Heat Pump Water-Heating Packages, and Air-Cooled Water-Chilling Packages Using the Vipor Compression Cycle.
Equipped with the Ultimate Inverter Compressor, the Multi V boasts excellent performance and energy efficiency. This model is popular in the northernmost regions of the US, where winters are often long and harsh, as it can operate effectively in temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius (-20 degrees Fahrenheit).
Our Multi F system, ideal for heating and cooling, and dedicated cooling, is specifically designed for the large-sized housing market. Up to five indoor units can be connected to one outdoor unit, and each indoor unit can be controlled individually. Indoor units can be installed in a wall-mounted, ceiling cassette, or duct-type configuration, giving consumers incredible flexibility.
The PTAC, an all-in-one air conditioning solution, is commonly used in hotels due to its outstanding durability. Its heat exchanger is coated with anti-corrosive and hydrophilic layers to help save power and reduce maintenance costs. Furthermore, the PTAC is ultra-quiet, making it the best choice for creating a quiet, comfortable environment.
Based on differentiated and distinctive technology, we have achieved more than double-digit growth in the US air conditioner market over the past three years.
“LG will continue to solidify its growth and profitability in the US market and demonstrate its unfailing commitment to offering customers unbeatable value,” said Lee Kam-gyu, executive vice president of the Air Solution Business Unit at LG’s Home Appliance and Air Solution Company.
